Monkey Thunderbolt, a race up six ropes
Six cartoon monkeys race up ropes in a temple courtyard. The betting board is a grid of red lanterns, one for every pair of numbers.
Monkey Thunderbolt is a race, not a slot. Six small monkeys, each with a number badge and a different coloured shirt, hang on ropes in a courtyard with a red temple gate and climb for the top. A dragon curls around the corner of the betting screen, and a street scene with a crowd plays across the top banner.
Reading the board
The board is a triangle of red lanterns. Rows are numbered 1 to 5 down the left, columns 6 to 2 across the top, and each lantern stands for one pair of monkeys, fifteen in all. The top figure on a lantern is its odds and the lower figure is your stake. Some pairs are priced low, such as 2 and 4 at 3 or 2 and 6 at 4. Others are long shots: 1 and 5 at 500, 4 and 6 at 1000.
Above the lanterns sit three fans marked BANKER x2, TIE x9 and PLAYER x2. Chips of 1, 5 and 10 are on the right, with CLEAR and START below them. A LAST RESULT column keeps the recent rounds, and a line at the bottom reads JACKPOT X3 X4 X5 FREE MONKEY without saying more.
After the race
In our last screen one chip sits on the 1 and 3 lantern, so the total bet is 1.00. Monkey 2 has come out on top in the banner, the 2 and 6 lantern is lit green, and the last result column has a Player mark in its first row. The chip on 1 and 3 didn't win, and the balance has dropped from MPV 21.94 to 20.94.
