The GOLD SYMBOL box sits where most Play8oy slots put LINES, and it matters more than it looks. At 128, the first screenshot shows a gold dragon, gold tigers, a gold phoenix and gold horses. At 48, the dragon, tiger and phoenix come back in their normal colours. The gold versions carry the higher prizes, so this box changes more than the size of the stake.
Gold and plain symbols
The rules page puts each animal in two columns. A gold dragon pays 300 for five against 30 for the plain one, a gold phoenix 180, a gold tiger 125 and a gold horse 100, while every plain version pays 30. A gold monkey pays 88, the card letters 15 and the red 8 pays 8. Wins are counted on 243 ways, adjacent reels from the left in any position.
Two rows of jackpots
Above the reels are four animal counters, DRAGON, PHOENIX, TIGER and HORSE, with a glowing tree between them. The usual GRAND to MINI bar sits higher up and read 0 in two of our shots. The scatter is a round jade medallion, and three or more in a row from the left pay a multiple of the total bet.

What does the GOLD SYMBOL box do?
It sets the stake: at PLAY 1, GOLD SYMBOL 128 gives a TOTAL PLAY of 128 and 48 gives 48. At 128 the dragon, tiger, phoenix and horse on the reels are drawn in gold, at 48 some of them are back in their plain colours, and the gold versions pay far more.
How do 243 ways work here?
The rules page says wins are paid from left to right for matching symbols on adjacent reels in any position, so there are no lines to pick.
Are there 15 free spins with a 3x multiplier?
The old page said so, quoting a price in pounds. None of that is on these screens. The scatter we can see pays a multiple of the total bet for three or more in a row from the left.
